Arroyo fest sounds fun! I’ve been to Mexico City for the paseo de la reforma, lot of people it’s amazing! back in April this year I did my first event along with the Red Cross from Tecate, Baja California, to do something similar , it came up pretty good to be my first time doing something like this, it isn’t easy because all the permits, sponsors etc but it turned out to be a great experience.
They have like a calendar event, and yes most of the rides are on Sundays, you can rent a bike for a couple of hours if you don’t have one. I want to go CDMX next year, hope to do some of those activities, visit the museums and drink some good coffee, maybe a good show? That’ll be great!
We used to have a similar even there, where they'd close one of the main arteries for a few hours to cars, and open it up to pretty much anything else. Like you, it felt a little disconcerting to me to be pedaling down the middle of the street. It almost felt like I was getting away with something? I dunno. What I do know is that these events are definitely great first steps to a more walkable future.

Right on! Do they close Reforma every Sunday? Once a month? I've always wanted to rent a bike and go for a spin but I worry about the altitude.
