I hope the Twitching Bits album was going to be called Bitchin' Twits
Let me know when you're in Brooklyn, might be able to make it down. Krakow is a beautiful city. There's an amazing coffee shop/bookstore there called Massolit. Delicious coffee and brownies and an awesome Eastern European lit in translation section. I picked up some good stuff when I visited many years ago, would love to browse it again
My family didn't lean into our Irish Heritage hard. My grandfather was more into doing charity at ST V de P than getting hammered at Hibernians (how every single male after him was a drunk I don't quite know ) but in one of the few good days of my pubescence my mom let me tag along when she was a celebrity judge in the Miss Irish Michigan pageant.
My dad was involved in it all: Knights of Columbus, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Irish National Caucus, as well as being a regular at Kelly's Irish Times on Capitol Hill. My brother let drop this weekend that he briefly dated the Arizona Rose of Tralee shortly after he moved to Phoenix.
I wish I had a picture of my grandad's funeral. It was like a geriatric Catholic West Side Story: All the K of C guys sat on one side, and all the St V de P people sat on the other, all bedecked in pins and scarves to identify them. I started rapping the theme from Colors.
I thought the most surprising thing about this post would be me learning about your Irish dancing past, but then I read that you were able to “enjoy” a non-alcoholic Guinness! I recently realized that in the 10 years since I got sober, I had not had anything remotely close to a good stout. Had one sip of NA Guinness and decided some memories were best left to the drunken past haha. PS after you left Chile, the NA Corona started showing up on the coast!
Haha. I will try to be patient. Take care.

I would never misspell Bitchen like that!
Where are you based? Only in Brooklyn for a few jam-packed days.
Ha!
I'm in Connecticut, hour and a half drive from Brooklyn. April's pretty jam-packed here too but do let me know
Shared this with a "p-rock chick" I know who was a dancer and her son is now too.
Wild! Patricia Morrison of The Bags and Gun Club was an Irish dancer.
