A friend told me that she gets so relaxed at the dentist that she falls asleep, and I can't imagine the feeling. Your description of thinking about your tounge really resonated with me.

I just had a tattoo appointment that was positively relaxing compared to my recent dental adventures!

I know about the pain you are feeling and I know about leaping over plot holes. I didn’t know you could make such a beautiful piece of writing about each. Here’s to life after the stitches come out!

Oh, I love this piece so much, such beautiful writing! As someone who has spent way too much time (and money) in dental chairs (implant, crowns), I can completely relate to everything you went through. Next time I go to the dentist I'm bringing a book to hold on to for comfort. And I'll meet you at that coffeehouse--the espresso is on me.

Thank you, Angie! Maybe imaginary coffeehouses are my safe space and happy place?

Glad the tooth survived and also how long are you on the liquid diet?

Sounds like a coffee shop I know in Flagstaff

And which one would that be?

I have a few favorites, but Macy's is the most like what you're describing

It is but the weird thing is I can't for the life of me recall what it looks or feels like. All I remember are the vibes.

Love how you weave so much together. Look forward to reading your book. I did feel a bit like Vern in Stand By Me at the end though. Got fixated on a minor detail. Wanted to know what book you were holding.

Ha, thanks, Travis! The book was The Cult in My Garage by Duncan Birmingham. Pretty good so far!
