I’m going to LA for a few nights to reset and explore instead of doom channeling for my birthday weekend. Last time it took an Act of God to slow down the insane orange bigot, so one never knows the future when karma is on fire. Here’s hoping for a swift demise to the evil shitball.
Thanks for this one Jim. Nobody's backing down. Read this morning a line from another song, "The opposite of war isn't peace, it's creation." ("La Vie Boheme," from Rent, by Jonathan Larson.) OK, see you later. I got some spray painting to do.
I spent an hour late Tuesday evening hoping our little seas of blue in GA would contain enough votes to flip the state. When it looked like it was not to be, I just went to bed bracing for the worst. Hopefully we can keep devising ways to keep him from going completely off the rails. It is going to be a loooooong four years.
Fun Thurston Moore interview. I read... er, I mean listened... to "Sonic Life" and really enjoyed it. I like what you say about it being written from a fan-centric perspective. Also, it's just a fucking killer "New York in the old days" book, for which I'm a sucker (ala Patti Smith's "Just Kids" -- another fav).
Ben
p.s. Just scored tix to my first Amyl and the Sniffers show in NYC in May.
Thanks, Ben! Had a feeling you'd like Sonic Life. A lot of it was probably painful for Moore to live though but so much fun to read and romanticize about. I also love what he had to say about zines!
Thanks, Jim. I felt the same way this week and believe these next few years are going to be rough. But "[w]orrying is praying for what you don’t want." Love that and will take it to heart.

Whatever happens, I won't someone to whom things happen. I won't someone who cries on the sidelines.

I hear you and happy birthday, amigo. Will you be in LA for Eight Very Bad Nights?

Hell yeah, Judy!

Forza! Yes!
Thanks, Jim. I needed this.
Great, great stuff.
Anemoia. I get that all the time but just thought it was some past life nostalgia shit. I'm kidding, but yeah, that's an awesome and exciting feeling.
Thanks, Gary! I think cultivating an active imagination is synonymous with being full of yearning.
