Books Through Bars sounds fantastic! Will kick in some $$ to the cause and see if there's an equivalent out here.

As much as I respect you continually getting in the ring at our age, I respect the charity work more.

Hope everyone stays safe from the fires.

Are you close to the Eaton fire? My mom is like 2 blocks from Vromans... and she got the evac order this morning. She's enjoying fine IE company here at my house now. Ahhh... SoCal

No, but we're in SD but I'm worried about the Razorcake familia and my Highland Park peeps. Glad your mom is safe!

Just did my every 3 month blood letting yesterday in Brooklyn. Love those Oreos and makes me feel good about myself in a fucked up world.

And books... just wrapped up Catch a Fire: The Life of Bob Marley. Pretty strong, but the parts covering his life and career were much less interesting than the parts digging in on the emerging years of the reggae music scene -- The Wailers and all of their solo acts (Bunny, Peter, etc.), the music producers and DJs, etc. Also interesting were the parts capturing life and politics and violence in pre- and post-colonial Jamaica (what a mess it was!!!).

Up next -- just cracked An Hour Before Daylight, Jimmy Carter's 2001 memoir about his life growing up on that dirty peanut farm in Georgia during the depression. Fascinating stuff. Highly recommend.

Very cool! I wonder how long I could camp out reading a book and eating mini oreos until they asked me to leave.

Thanks Jim. Love the message from the underworld: Less money, more action. Good luck getting back into the routine of the gym.
